Bone Broth

Bone broth is chock full of nutrients and collagen which helps keep skin supple and young, and heals the gut lining helping with digestion and immunity. Starting off the morning with a steaming cup of bone broth is an excellent way to give yourself some love before starting a busy day. 


You will need: 

  • Bones of any kind, we like using a chicken carcass from a rotisserie chicken or beef bones from the butcher 
  • 3 tbsp apple cider vinegar 
  • Enough filtered water to cover the bones
  • 1 Onion 
  • 3 pieces of chopped ginger 
  • 3 cloves of garlic, smashed with base of knife
  • Any other veggies you want to add, we like celery and carrots


Put the bones with the veggies, garlic, onion, and ginger into a croc pot. Add the apple cider vinegar and cover the bones with filtered water. Depending on size of croc pot, you will get about 10 cups of broth. Put the croc pot on medium and simmer for 12 hours, then low for another 12 hours. Strain out all solids so that just the broth is left. This can stay in the refrigerator for about 4 days and also freezes easily in portion sized amounts. We like to use bone broth as a base for soups and drink a  steaming cup in the morning to boost immunity.


Pro tip: If you put all of these ingredients in an Instant Pot, the broth will cook in about 40 minutes.
